For higher education scholarship recipients: Upon successful completion these courses can be used to satisfy volunteer hours. Course certificates will be required.

Cherokee 1 is a introductory level language class that is geared towards first time students that have never been exposed to the language. This class will introduce Cherokee phonetics and pronunciations. 

Live classes are held on

  • Mondays & Wednesdays 9:00 AM - 10:00 AM (Central Time)
  • Tuesdays & Thursdays 4:00 PM - 5:00 PM (Central Time)

Cherokee 2 is a intermediate level language class that is geared towards students that have completed the Cherokee 1 classes and are comfortable with the phonetics and pronunciations. This class will review the Cherokee phonetics and introduce the Cherokee syllabary. 

Live classes are held on:

  • Mondays & Wednesdays 2:30 PM - 3:30 PM (Central Time)
  • Tuesdays & Thursdays 9:00 AM - 10:00 AM (Central Time)

Cherokee 3 is an advanced level language class that is geared towards students that have completed Cherokee 1 and Cherokee 2. Cherokee 3 is completely in the Cherokee syllabary and covers a broader range topics. 

Live classes are held on:

  • Mondays & Wednesdays 4:00 PM - 5:00 PM (Central Time)
  • Tuesdays & Thursdays 2:30 PM - 3:30 PM (Central Time)

Cherokee 4 is an advanced level language class that is geared towards students that have completed Cherokee 1, 2, and 3.

  • Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays 10:30 AM - 11:30 AM (Central Time)
